Edit A Product Page without Live or Active
Hi Gem team, Can you share what is your system/technical problem for a page need to be LIVE or ACTIVE to edit?
My big problems is while running Ads for product A (in case it has good and stable sales), I want to create/edit the PRODUCT PAGE/LANDING PAGE for ANOTHER product B. During that editing time (which takes me weeks to finish, even experts like Gem Service takes 2-5 days to finish a paid Product Page service), It should not be LIVE or ACTIVE because customers will see the unprofessional page of a product.
Could you share your plan or timeline to modify or fix this? Thank you a lot.

Hi @David Buz
Here’s how a template goes live in GemPages:
Product page: To make it live, you need to (1) assign the template to a product (e.g. Product B) and (2) publish it. Learn more here.
Landing page: It goes live right after you publish it. See the guide here.
That means as long as you keep the page in draft, visitors won’t see it while you’re still working on it.
If you have any questions, feel free to reach us via in-app live chat, we’re happy to help!
Have a nice day,
Lucas

1/ To edit a Product Page => Need assign 1 product A => product A must ACTIVE or NOT in Shopify?
2/ If ACTIVE in Shopify => Customer will see the UNFINISHED product page => YES or NO?
2.1/ If YES => do you get my point now??
2.2/ If no need ACTIVE in Shopify => can I edit product page A in Gempage YES or NO?
I did asked many times in Gem chat with your team, and they told me to request you a change of function here.

Hi @David Buz
1. To edit a Product Page → Need assign product A → this product A can be Active, Unlisted or Draft. Anything is fine, we just need this product existed in the Shopify so we can get information of this Product to show you in Editor like product title, product images, product variants, product price, etc. The key point here is the status of template you design in GemPages, which I will explain in point 2.
2. If Product is active in Shopify:
2.1: if the product used default template of Shopify, likes this
and the template in GemPages you’re working on still in DRAFT - which mean your customers only see this product page with design of default product page from your live theme.
2.2: if the product used a template you created a GemPages on live, you will see this template ID is assigned to this product in Shopify.
In this case, if you edit this template in GemPages and do not publish the changes, the product page works well and you customers never see the unfinished work.
