Custom Code elements show liquid in Builder

When i create a Custom Code element in order to use liquid, the code is shown in the editor instead of what it will actually look like. This can greatly disrupt the layout of the page. Since i have to open an editor anyway, it seems useless to show the liquid. I’d like to have a way to specify what’s shown or, if possible, have it actually process the liquid and render correctly.

    Hi @Jon Eddy

Thanks for your suggestion. Currently, Liquid cannot be rendered directly inside the GemPages Builder. The reason is that Shopify requires Liquid to be processed on Shopify’s servers before it can be converted into HTML. Because of this architecture, Liquid code is only executed after the section or template is published to Shopify and rendered on the storefront.

When you are still working inside the GemPages Editor (draft page), the code has not yet been sent to Shopify for processing. As a result, the editor can only display the raw Liquid code, and it cannot render the final output as it would appear on the live page.

So at the moment, it isn’t technically possible to process and preview Liquid live inside the editor. The rendered result can only be seen after the page or section is published and loaded through Shopify.

    Best regards,
    Lucas
